Introduction

This teaching portfolio outlines my teaching philosophy, experience and future career goals. I completed the portfolio to meet the requirements of the Certificate of Innovation in College Teaching (CICT) which is a non-credit professional development program offered by the Office of Academic Innovation at Portland State University. Through this program, I participated in over 50 hours of professional development, assessed my teaching in various ways (e.g., videos, course observations), and adopted innovative approaches to teaching. Completing the CICT has given me the opportunity to critically evaluate my approach to teaching and continually work to be a better educator.
